A film that has been the talk of the town since the moment of its announcement in 2019, 'Thalapathy' Vijay's Master smashed its way into theatres this Pongal after being pushed away from its initial plan of release in April 2020. The mass masala action entertainer directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj has taken a stunning opening everywhere with fans thronging cinema halls to catch Vijay's showdown on the big screen with 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, who plays the antagonist in the film. With the film now out in theatres, footage from a CCTV camera has now surfaced online showing 'Thalapathy' Vijay himself watching the Master FDFS with fans at the popular Devi Theatre on Mount Road in Chennai.

In the CCTV video, we see Vijay entering Devi Theatre and speaking to authorities at the cinema hall before being escorted into the gallery to watch Master along with fans. Although not much is shown apart from Vijay's entry into Devi Theatre, the news of the superstar watching the Master first day first show along with fans has come as a delightful news to many. This isn't the first occasion Vijay has seen his film with his fans as he last watched Kaththi in 2014 at Kasi Theatre in Chennai. Vijay has maintained a low profile while watching his own films at theatres amidst the presence of fans as he has not intended to draw any attention towards him considering the emphasis has been on enjoying the visual treat on the big screen.

The Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi starrer Master has taken a stellar opening in Tamil Nadu and several parts of the world where the film has released. Despite many countries still in a lockdown phase due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film has managed to be released in maximum number of screens, with the feedback from fans turning out to be largely positive. It is to be noted that Master had in the first day collected 25 crores in Tamil Nadu alone making it one of the biggest openings for a Vijay film to date. Produced by Xavier Britto's XB Film Creators banner and distributed by Lalit Kumar's 7 Screen Studios in Tamil, the film has also been released in Hindi under the title Vijay The Master, with B4U Motion Pictures bringing it to theatres across North India.
