The uncertainty in the release date of Vijay's Thalaivaa in Tamil Nadu has left the producers in a confused state. The film, which released worldwide last week, has garnered good response, so far. The latest is that producer Chandra Prakash Jain has requested CM Jayalalithaa's intervention in the issue. "We have sought an appointment with the chief minister of the state. We are waiting to meet her and discuss the issue in detail. I have already incurred huge loss due to the delay. A further delayed means heavy losses," Jain said in a statement.

Director Vijay has also clarified that the film does not have a political tone. The film is about Tamils living in Mumbai and the problems they faced in 80's.
