Popular Telugu actor Krishnudu was arrested by the Hyderabad Police on Friday night on charges of gambling. According to reports, the actor was nabbed by officials in Miyapur at a villa when he was allegedly playing poker with seven others among whom also included the organiser Paddi Raju. The Miyapur police rushed to the spot after they received a tip-off and arrested all eight persons at midnight, following which a case was registered against them under the Public Gaming Act. Reports also state Krishnudu and the others were let go after getting bail, with the actor expected to be present at the police station on Saturday for further inquiry.

Ravi Kiran, Sub-Inspector, Miyapur Police Station said, "Actor Krishnudu had attended a function along with a group of friends on Friday night and started gambling at the premises. We received a call from one of the people who were there at the function, who informed us that illegal gambling activity was taking place. We immediately went and arrested them. We registered a case under the Telangana Public Gaming Act. In addition to this, we also seized Rs 2 lakh cash and eight mobile phones.". It is to be noted that this is not the first time Krishnudu has come in conflict with the law as a case was registered against him at the Panjagutta police station last year after a 45-year-old woman levelled allegations of sexual abuse. Krishnudu went on to deny the allegations after a list was released by the woman in which 139 people among whom included several TV anchors, reporters, advocates, physicians and student leaders’ names were mentioned.

Krishnudu is best known among fans for making appearances in supporting roles in notable Telugu films like Pokiri, Happy Days, Oye!, Arya 2, Mr Perfect, Yeto Vellipoyindhi Manasu, Manam, Jyothi Lakshmi, Hello and was last seen in Hulchul in 2019.
