Sun TV appoints Ajay Vidyasagar as CEO

Chennai-based TV broadcaster Sun TV Network, one of India's largest media and entertainment networks, has appointed Ajay Vidyasagar as CEO of the company with immediate effect.

Vidyasagar has confirmed the development and said that he has taken over the new role from July 15. Kalanithi Maran-promoted Sun TV Network broadcasts 20 television channels in the four South Indian languages—Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam—and also operates 42 FM radio stations across India.

Ajay Vidyasagar, who stepped down at Star India as president (content and new media) in March, has over 20 years experience in brand management and content creation. He worked at Star India for 13 years, prior to which he spent seven years at Ogilvy and Mather. He holds a BA degree from Madras University and has done post graduate certificate programmes from the Indian School of Business.
