Silamabarasan TR fans are having the time of their lives of late as the multi-talented star has been treating them with updates from his upcoming films for a while now, including making a grand re-entry into social media once again sometime back. Simbu, who recently wrapped up his Pongal 2021 release Eeswaran in quick time, while also delighting fans to an action-packed teaser from the film as a Diwali treat, resumed shooting for his Maanaadu under Venkat Prabhu’s direction at Pondicherry. A mass masala political action entertainer, STR has now officially announced that the much-awaited Maanaadu first look poster will be unveiled on November 21, 2020 at 10:44AM. A special pre-first look announcement poster has also been released which has the star covering his face. Check out the announcement below:

Being produced by Suresh Kamatchi's V House Production, Simbu's Maanaadu has been a highly-exciting project for fans as it will also see the flamboyant star playing the role of a Muslim for the first time in his career. He plays a character named Abdul Khaaliq, with the team canning a considerable chunk of portions prior to the nationwide lockdown. The project was announced in mid-2018, but took time to flag off and had commenced in February earlier this year. It is to be noted that STR had previously appeared in a cameo in Venkat Prabhu's 2010 hit Goa, with fans wanting to see them both collaborate on a full-length feature film.

Apart from Silambarasan and Venkat Prabhu, the hype surrounding Maanaadu shot up after it was revealed that composer Yuvan Shankar Raja had been roped in and the trio's teaming up has created tremendous expectations for the film. Yuvan has been a big power behind a number of Venkat Prabhu and Simbu films over the years and his association with both of them in one film has left many believing the chart-buster music director will churn out hit tunes once again. Maanaadu is a multi-starrer and includes Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the female lead, followed by SJ Suryah, Karunakaran, Premgi Amaren, Manoj Bharathiraja, Daniel Annie Pope, Y. Gee. Mahendra and veteran directors SA Chandrasekhar and Bharathiraja in major supporting roles. The film also has a talented technical crew among whom are Richard M. Nathan for the cinematography, Praveen K. L. for the editing, Rajeevan for the production design, action choreography by 'Stunt' Silva and costume designs by Vasuki Bhaskar.

The Maanaadu team has been shooting the ongoing schedule under the supervision of Siddha specialist Dr. Veerababu to monitor the COVID-19 situation. The makers have taken all necessary precautions for the entire team and are carrying out the shooting as per the government's protocols. The current Maanaadu schedule is said to be a long one and is expected to last for around 40 days, with Chennai 600028 II Innings actress Anjena Kriti also a part of the film, who had incidentally shot a song before the lockdown.
