Popular Tamil actress Ammu Abhirami has tested positive for Covid 19 virus and she took to her official Instagram page to share the news. She mentioned that she has isolated herself and is doing good. Ammu Abhirami's official statement read, "After having fever symptoms, I have tested positive for Covid 19. With the doctor's advise, I have isolated myself at home and am taking the required medicines and care. Will be back stronger than ever. Please stay safe and take lots of care.". Abhirami's fans and well-wishers have sent their positive words and support during these challenging times and we also hope she returns to normalcy very soon.

The young and talented actress rose to fame after playing the character of 'Ammu' in Vishnu Vishal's blockbuster hit thriller, Ratsasan, directed by Ram Kumar. Though it was a small character, it gave a major breakthrough for Abhirami and there has been no look back since then. Before Ratsasan, Ammu Abhirami had acted in brief roles in movies like Bairavaa, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Thaana Serndha Koottam, and more. Following the success of Ratsasan, Ammu Abhirami had acted in an important role in Dhanush's critically acclaimed blockbuster hit, Asuran, directed by Vetri Maaran. Ammu Abhirami played the character of Maariyammal, the love interest of Dhanush's character in the flashback.

Her performance in the film received positive reviews. Recently, Ammu Abhirami was seen playing the female lead in the Telugu film, FCUK: Father Chitti Umaa Karthik, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
