Director Desingh Periyasamy hit the bullseye earlier this year in his debut film, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, starring Dulquer Salmaan, Ritu Varma, Rakshan and Niranjani Ahathian in the lead roles. The romantic heist comedy film also featuring director Gautham Menon in a major supporting role went on to become a success both critically and commercially and garnered a strong following post the nationwide lockdown when it was released on the OTT streaming platform, Netflix.

Post the release of Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, Desingh Periyasamy was flooded with appreciation from many reputed names in the industry including 'Superstar' Rajinikanth, who called the young director to personally congratulate him on the film's success. Likewise, actor Sivakarthikeyan and composer Anirudh Ravichander too tweeted out their praises after the release of the film, with Desingh now revealing in an exclusive interview to Galatta his conversation with the Namma Veettu Pillai star.

Speaking about his discussion with Sivakarthikeyan, Desingh states, "It is true that I was working on a story for my next project in Courtallam. After Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal hit theatres, both Sivakarthikeyan and Anirudh tweeted about the film and that was a time when neither of us knew each other personally. Their words on Twitter provided a big boost to the film. Sivakarthikeyan soon got my contact number and spoke to everybody in the team including Dulquer Salmaan, Rakshan and me as well. During our conversation, he inquired if I could meet him and I obliged as Indru Netru Naalai director R. Ravikumar was our mutual friend. Since they both are now doing Ayalaan, Sivakarthikeyan was informed about me much before and I went to his office."

Desingh adds, "When I met Sivakarthikeyan, we instantly clicked since both of us are 'Thalaivar' Rajinikanth fans and there was a lot of sync between us. I expressed my interest to work on a film with him and he too conveyed the same. As of now, the script hasn't been locked in. Currently, I'm working on 2-3 scripts and I don't know at this point which one I'm going to zero in on. It is true that we had met, but I haven't revealed a single line from the scripts I've been working on. I haven't given my commitment to anyone as yet on what I'm going to do next as I want to prepare a 100 percent bounded script and then sign up for a project."

Although Design Periyasamy states that he hasn't locked a script yet for Sivakarthikeyan, he has mentioned that he will be working with the actor, who next awaits the Nelson Dilipkumar directorial, Doctor and R. Ravikumar's sci-fi venture, Ayalaan, which will include music by Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman. Sivakarthikeyan is also producing Vaazhl under his Sivakarthikeyan Productions banner, currently in post-production stages under Aruvi fame Arun Prabhu Purushothaman's direction.
