Actress Lakshmi Menon became an instant sensation and went on to earn two consecutive Tamil Nadu State Film Awards for Best Actress for her strong performances in her debut film, Sundarapandian and Kumki, in 2012. In the same year, the actress was then seen in the Sasikumar starrer, Kutti Puli and also played the role of a school teacher in director Suseenthiran's action film, Pandianadu, opposite Vishal, with the ventures turning out to be major box office successes. Lakshmi Menon is one of the few actresses who had a triumphant year one after entering the film industry, with her popularity among fans skyrocketing overnight. 

Lakshmi Menon, who has taken a break from films, but is set to be seen next in the long-delayed Thangar Bachan comedy film Yung Mung Sung, opposite Prabhu Deva, has been interacting with fans using her Instagram page. The actress who recently stunned fans with images from a photoshoot, shared a video of her cat on the Instagram story feature, which received numerous responses. 

One follower among the several who responded advised Lakshmi Menon to get married and quit cinema. The message read, "Looking awesome, better get married to someone. Please Live a peaceful life. Leave cinema please. You are an angel, live like that,". Sharing the screenshot of the follower's response, the popular actress captioned it saying "grow up" and added her statement which read as follows: "Look at this Loving, humble, caring well-wisher of mine thinks an angel like me should get married to someone and find my peace. Pathetic just pathetic." Fans on social media have been giving Lakshmi Menon a double thumbs up for her strong response and praising her for standing up to rebuking the age-old view of getting married and settling early in life. 

Although not seen in films as much as before, Lakshmi Menon went on to deliver memorable performances in films such as Jigarthanda and Miruthan. She also starred in Naan Sigappu Manithan, Komban with Karthi including the biggle, Vedalam, as 'Thala' Ajith's sister and Rekka opposite 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi, which was her last outing on the big screen in 2016. A number of fans in the days ahead await an announcement from the actress who sidelined cinema to pursue her studies.
