The studio juggernaut, Marvel Studios, has released the first Eternals teaser, and thereby giving us the first glimpse at the cosmic space heroes among whom a few are also shown grooving to Indian music and Bollywood desi beats. Directed by Academy Award winner Chloé Zhao, Eternals’ story is said to be spanning thousands of years set in the cosmos and far reaches of outer space and immortal beings stepping out of the shadows and reuniting once again to battle the oldest enemy of life in the universe - The Deviants.

The Eternals teaser has plenty of action laden throughout as with all the films in the ever so expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), including eye-popping superhero costumes and visual effects and a story set to keep audiences hooked till the end. Scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release in November this year, the Eternals teaser has won extra love from fans around India as it has a number of Indian references which have gotten everyone talking as many are expressing their thoughts on Marvel’s latest move to include the desi flavour.

Among the several highlights in the Eternals teaser are the romantic scenes between Richard Madden's all-powerful Ikaris and Gemma Chan's Sersi, with their relationship set to be a major plot element as it will arc over decades, including their wedding taking place in line with traditional Indian customs. We see in the teaser Gemma in a saree, while Madden is wearing a sherwani. And, to top it all off, there’s Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, who is playing a popular Bollywood film star to blend in on Earth, and shaking his feet to a Bollywood-style dance number in his desi avatar.

Fans who have watched the MCU expand since it began more than a decade ago will have plenty to look forward to in Eternals as the teaser has once again dropped references to the events of Avengers: Endgame and the ragtag group of cosmic superheroes discussing the leadership of Earth's Mightiest Heroes considering both Tony Stark / Iron Man and Steve Rogers / Captain America are no longer a part of the team. As with any Marvel Studios film, Eternals too is expected to shed light on the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame and also set the tone for how their actions in the cosmos will have an effect in Earth.

One of the biggest highlights in Eternals is its star cast featuring the likes of Academy Award-winning actress Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena, followed by Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh and Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig.
