Director Desingh Periyasamy impressed fans in his debut film, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal, starring Dulquer Salmaan and Ritu Varma in the lead roles, with the comedy heist drama turning out to be a box office success, while also getting positive reviews from fans and critics alike. Now, Desingh Periyasamy is all set to tie the knot with the film's actress and veteran director Agathiyan's daughter Niranjani, who also starred as one of the leads in Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal and was cast opposite VJ Rakshan. The news of Desingh and Niranjani getting married was made by director Thiru on Twitter with a picture of a wedding invitation that included both of their names. Niranjani Ahathian, who hails from a film family, also has two sisters - Vijayalakshmi and Karthika. Vijayalakshmi is known for starring in the Chennai 600028 films and is married to Pandigai director Feroz Mohammed, while Karthika wed Thiru, who directed films namely Theeradha Vilaiyattu Pillai, Samar, Naan Sigappu Manithan, Mr. Chandramouli, including Chanakya in Telugu. Taking to her Instagram page, Vijayalakshmi shared a picture of her sister Niranjani with Desingh to also inform fans of the upcoming wedding in the family. 

Vijayalakshmi wrote, "WEDDING ALERT: Super happy to announce... Enga veetu kalyanam!!! yaaaaas @niranjani_ahathian weds @desinghperiyasamy Happy to become family desingh ! That makes “Ahathian’s all maapilais director maapillais” Can’t really wait to see u guys on your big day. Love you two #meowwwwwwwwwww @feroz.dir @dir_thiru @kanithiru10 @ahathiansannasi #FAMILY". It is said that an engagement ceremony had taken place recently as Niranjani had shared pictures of a family function on her social media.
