In the early hours of April 17, ace actor Vivekh was declared dead by the doctors and the news sent shock waves across the country. Vivekh was admitted to a private hospital in Chennai following a massive cardiac arrest. He was admitted to the ICU ward of the hospital at 11 AM on April 16 and at 4.35 AM on April 17, he was announced to be dead. Vivekh was 59 years old when he breathed his last. Vivekh will forever have a place in the hearts of the Tamil audience for creating some evergreen comedies in the span of the last 30 years. Vivekh was one of the fewer comedians who made use of the art form of cinema to create awareness among the people about various social issues and topics.

He also actively planted lakhs and lakhs of trees across the state. As a mark of respect to his good deeds to the society, Tamil Nadu Government has made a breaking announcement, revealing that his mortal remains will be cremated with full Police honour. This timely move from the Government has earned the love of the Tamil people who claim that Vivekh deserves all the respect. The Election Commission of India approved the request placed by Tamil Nadu Government for the same and following the approval, the Government made the official announcement. A press statement has been released by the Government and the cremation will take place this evening with Police honour.
