Bigg Boss 2 fame and actress Payal Rohatgi is once facing legal troubles as she has been arrested by the Ahmedabad city police for allegedly threatening the residents of her housing society. The police arrested the 36-year-old actress on Friday after an FIR was registered against her based on a complaint lodged by society chairman Dr. Parag Shah on Thursday, Inspector A S Roy of Satellite police station told PTI. Payal had been living with her parents in Ahmedabad's posh society Satellite area for more than a year and has been charged with uttering obscene words (IPC section 294-b), intentional insult (504) and criminal intimidation (506), inspector Roy said.

In his complaint, Dr. Parag claimed that Payal had harassed society members, including once threatening children that she would "break their legs" if they were to be seen playing in the common area. According to reports, Payal does not have her own house in the society and attended the annual general meeting on June 20 along with her parents. Furthermore, she had reportedly abused the members at the meeting and then posted a derogatory message on the society's WhatsApp group, the FIR stated. She had also apparently issued threats to the members that she could have them arrested in false cases.

Earlier in 2019, Payal Rohatgi was arrested for allegedly posting offensive content against the Nehru-Gandhi family on social media, but was later released on bail. In an interview back then to a leading daily, the actress had stated, "Thank you everybody for getting me out. I was very scared in jail, but now I am very happy. I have been politically victimised." Recalling the period spent at the Bundi jail, Payal told the daily, "I spent a sleepless night and it was very cold. We slept on the floor on a mattress. It was my first experience in jail and I hope it to be the last."
