Popular Bollywood actor, filmmaker and producer Kamal Sadanah confirmed in a recent interview to a leading daily about his separation from his wife Lisa John, a make-up artist. After getting married on January 1, 2000 and being blessed with two children - son Angath and daughter Leia, Kamal has stated that they are now separated. He said, "Two people grow apart and go in different directions. Such things are happening all over and ours was one of those." Kamal has stated that after his separation from Lisa, she has shifted to Goa and is living with her parents.

Kamal Sadanah made his acting debut in 1992 opposite Kajol in the Hindi film, Bekhudi and featured in Rang, which turned out to be a box office success. He subsequently appeared in a number of films throughout the 90s before making his directorial debut with Roar in 2014, which didn't perform well commercially and critically. At the time of Roar's release, Kamal mentioned how marrying Lisa John was the best decision of his life. "If marrying Lisa was the best thing I did, then making Roar would have to rank as the second-best move in my life. It’s a relief to leave my acting career behind. My heart was never in acting," he told Bollywood Hungama.

Apart from venturing into acting and direction, Kamal Sadanah, son of Late filmmaker Brij Sadanah, also turned to production in 2007 and made Victoria No. 203: Diamonds Are Forever, which was a remake of the 1972 film, Victoria No 203 and included a highly talented cast among whom were veteran actors like Anupam Kher, Om Puri, followed by Jimmy Sheirgill, Preeti Jhangiani and Jaaved Jaaferi.
