One film that has grabbed the attention of fans everywhere from the day of its announcement, Ajith Kumar's Valimai being directed by H. Vinoth under Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner has been progressing at a steady pace for sometime now. Touted to be an out-an-out action venture, the upcoming film will be catering to family audiences and also includes composer Yuvan Shankar Raja coming on board for the music. As fans await the Valimai first that look, producer Boney Kapoor in an interview to American business magazine Forbes revealed filming is scheduled to come to a wrap on February 15, 2021. He also informed that there is one important stunt sequence planned to be shot abroad, with plans to begin post production soon, including a decision on the release date to be finalized.

Producer Boney Kapoor's latest statement on Valimai is the first big update on the film in a while and it now remains to be seen what the makers have packed in for 'Thala' Ajith's fans. It is to be noted that Valimai is the second consecutive film for Ajith, H. Vinoth, Boney Kapoor and Yuvan Shankar Raja after their 2019 blockbuster Nerkonda Paarvai. Yuvan Shankar Raja on Wednesday dropped a big update for fans and told that the opening song in Valimai will be a high energy dance number with solid folk beats, with festival drummers from Orissa being roped in for the track.

Up until now, there has been no official glimpse from the film apart from a couple of shooting spot stills, including one that had Ajith performing a daredevil stunt on a motorbike. Valimai is also incidentally the first time since 2015’s Yennai Arindhaal Ajith was last seen playing the role of a police officer. There is massive hype surrounding Valimai as fans expect the film to carry H. Vinoth's trademark research, which was highly visible in his earlier films like Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru. Apart from Ajith, Valimai will also include Karthikeya who is speculated to be playing the antagonist, with Kaala fame Huma Qureshi as the female lead, followed by Yogi Babu, Saranya Ravichandran among others forming the supporting cast.
