Anara Gupta on Munna Bhaiya and Bhojpuri films

Anara Gupta, who started her career withMiss Anara (Hindi) is nowvery busy with Bhojpuri films. Last week,on the sets of Munna Bhaiya, she had a small chat with the press to discuss Munna Bhaiya, her future projects and the Bhojpuri industry.

Munna Bhaiya is shaping up fast. What does the lead lady have to say about it? “In this film, I am playing a very nice character, but I can not tell you about that as the director hasinstructed all of us not to talk to the media about this film. All I can say is it's going to be a family drama, and my hero is Sushil Singh. I have plenty of expectations from this film,” says a smiling Anara.

Having started her career in Bollywood inMiss Anara, why this shift to Bhojpuria? The actresschuckles and says, “No, It's not like I have shifted to Bhojpuri film industry. Actually, I was free after Miss Anara and I offered a role in Vidhata. Since the subject was good, I accepted. As the film was successful, I was flooded with many Bhojpuri offers.”

A busy lady, Anara has manyprojects in her kitty. Ask her and you are flooded with her upcoming movies. “Apart from Munna Bhaiya, I am doing Shreedhar Shetty's Jai Ho Dulhe Raja, Mukesh Pandey's Dulhaniya Jayegi Dulhe Raja Ke Saath, Bali's Nathuniye Pe Goli Maare, and Bobby Singh's Natwarlal. Also, I am doing a very special item song in Wah Khiladai Wah.

Anara, who hails from Jammu, is quite fluent in Bhojpurion screen. How does she manage it? “At first, I thought that I might find it difficult speaking in Bhojpuri, but I was surprised tofind that it is pretty easy and similar to Hindi. Since I was not in Mumbai at the time of dubbing of Vidhata, I was not able to do it, but for my all other films, I have done the dubbing as well,”says this cute beauty.

What is her stand on the Bhojpuri industry? How does she rate Bhojpuri films? The actress is quick to defend Bhojpuri films: “Although there are many films being made in Bhojpuri nowadays, they can not be compared to Hindi films due to budget. The budgets of Hindi films are very high, that is why they use the latest techniques to create better effects. But one thing is sure; Bhojpuri films are doing good business nowadays, and if they continue to grow like this, very soon we will be on par with Bollywood. Anyway, I am thankful to Bhojpuria audience for supporting me and my films.”

Indeed, the Bhojpuria community is also thankful to her forentertainingthem withseveral good films. Keep up the good work. Anara!
