Happy birthday Mammootty
National award winning Malayalam actor Mammootty, who has acted in more than 300 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi as a lead actor in a career spanning more than 30 years, celebrates his 56th birthday today (September 7). We at Galatta.com wishe him all the very best and happy birthday.
Mammootty, who is currently in Chennai, said on Monday that he celebrates his birthday in a quiet way and has made no resolutions for the occasion either. Since his birthday falls during Ramzan this year, Mammootty, a devout Muslim, plans to remain indoors.
"Today I am taking the day off and tomorrow I am going to Palani (a temple town in Tamil Nadu) for the shooting of my forthcoming Malayalam film Chattambinadu. I am waiting for my son to arrive from Kochi, but my daughter who is in Bangalore is unable to make the trip," he said.
Asked if he was expecting to get a National Award at the 55th National Film Awards to be announced, Mammootty laughed and said: "See, a few days before the awards are announced speculations are aired. I think I have overcome such moments and I only concentrate on what I have undertaken, and such things no longer bother me."
