Bussy Anand, Secretary of the All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam (TVMI), issued a clarification on X on Saturday night, August 5, on behalf of Tamil actor Vijay in regard to the fan association-welfare organization's flags being spotted at Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president K Annamalai's 'En Mann En Makkal' (My Land My People) padayatra earlier this week in Madurai. The actor in his statement said that the persons who participated in the programs of other parties are not the responsibility of the Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam nor do they have any connection with them. Bussy Anand posted, "I would like to inform you that the persons reported in the media and social media as participating in alternative party programs with the Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam flag are not under any responsibility of the Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam and they have no connection with Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam. (sic)"

Vijay's statement has come after a few people were spotted waving the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam flags at Annamalai's yatra, which led to different speculations, with the actor now clearing the confusion. The actor's bulletin has come after he announced the setting up of free legal counseling centres after holding an introductory meeting of advocates of all districts in Chennai yesterday. Speaking about the meeting of the advocates, Bussy Anand said the centre will be initially set up in Chennai while adding that the functioning of the advocates' wing was also debated.
The All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam launched night study centres recently to extend support to school students across 234 Tamil Nadu constituencies after Vijay honored Class 10 and Class 12 toppers in the board examinations earlier this year. The event was held back in July in Chennai, which saw the actor converse with the students for more than 13 hours, with the centres reportedly being opened in 90 assembly constituencies.
