It's now official - Manjummel Boys has been declared an industry hit and is now the highest worldwide grosser from the Malayalam film industry. The announcement was made by the film's director Chidambaram S. Poduval of Jan. E. Man (2021) fame, who posted the big news on his Instagram Story on Thursday, March 14. Manjummel Boys has turned out to be a phenomenal commercial and critical success, while witnessing a huge audience turnout in theatres across Kerala, including Tamil Nadu where the film has released in its original language.

Manjummel Boys had smashed its way into the 100 crore club in quick time and has now grossed more than 150 crores, according to latest reports, with the numbers expected to keep getting better as a large number of shows and screenings have already been allotted in theatres and multiplexes. The survival thriller film has edged past previous Malayalam industry hits namely the disaster drama 2018 (2023) and the Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan (2016), and is continuing its box office rampage on its third Monday. With hopes high for Manjummel Boys to enter the 200 crore club and become the first Malayalam film to reach the milestone, it is now a waiting game for the industry and fans to see whether such an accomplishment will be made in the days ahead.

Director Chidambaram's Manjummel Boys has also garnered the distinction of becoming the first Malayalam venture to cross 10 crores in box office collections in Tamil Nadu as theatres across the state continue to screen the film to packed houses. Leading Tamil cinema names too have sung high praise for the Malayalam film among whom include 'Ulaganayagan' Kamal Haasan, Dhanush, Siddharth, including politician Udhayanidhi Stalin. Manjummel Boys revolves around a group of friends making desperate efforts to save one of their own, who accidentally falls into a deep pit, with the ensemble star cast featuring Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathi S. Poduval, Lal Jr., Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurian, Khalid Rahman, among others.
