Bengaluru: A man crashed his Lamborghini Gallardo into the traffic police kiosk at the CTO Circle opposite Cubbon Park Metro Station on Sunday evening. The man, who fled the spot immediately after hitting the kiosk, returned later in the day to take selfies at the damaged kiosk.
According to sources, the crash was a high-impact one and left a hole in the traffic kiosk, even damaging the chairs within. However, the traffic policemen were not present in the kiosk when the crash happened. Even though he had not injured anybody, the driver of the vehicle fled after the public began gathering around the kiosk. He reportedly was heading towards Raj Bhavan from MG Road when the accident happened.
A couple of hours after the accident, the man - identified as Sunny Sabharwal (28), returned for his car. The News Minute reported that Sunny is one of the directors of Fun World and Resorts India Private Limited. Rather than taking his car and leaving, Sunny took some pictures at the kiosk and posted them on social media.
Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ravikante Gowda formed a team to investigate the matter. When the cops, after having checked the CCTV footage and also finding the pictures that Sunny had posted online, arrived at his house in RT Nagar, his family was unaware of the incident.
Sunny was booked for rash and negligent driving. He was arrested and slapped with a fine of Rs 2,000. He was later let go on station bail.
