X-Men beat Da Vinci Code

The last film in the X-Men trilogy soared past Da Vinci Code at the box-office this weekend. It has posted the fourth-highest all-time openings in North America, according to studio estimates issued on Sunday.

X-Men: The Last Stand sold about $107 million worth of tickets in the three-day period from Friday to Sunday, said distributor 20th Century Fox. It was originally expected that the movie would make an $86 million opening, but the movie has surpassed all expectations.
