Life of Pi is an upcoming Hollywood adventure film based on the 2001 novel of the same name, written by Yann Martel. This film is directed by Ang Lee and screenplay by David Magee. The movie will feature Suraj Sharma, Irfan Khan, Tabu, Shravanthi Sainath and Tobey Maguire in prominent roles. Produced by Ang Lee, Gil Netter and David Womark under the banner of 20th Century Fox, Life of Pi is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2012.
 
Life of Pi will tell the story of the character Pi, a youth who is the only person to survive the sinking of a cargo ship. He finds himself on a lifeboat with a hyena, a zebra, an orangutan, and a tiger.
