Rumours were strong that a Bollywood actor would be roped in to play the antagonist in Ajith's upcoming film under Siva's directorial. Many names including Abhishek Bachchan and Arjun were also considered for the role, but now we hear that the makers have decided to rope in actor Vivek Oberoi for the same.

Touted to be a crime thriller, Thala 57 stars Ajith, Kajal Aggarwal and Akshara Haasan in lead roles. Sathyajyothi films is bankrolling this movie which is currently under production. The cast and crew are busy shooting some important sequences at Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad.
