Kamal to encourage new directors

Kamal Haasan has always been on the forefront when it comes to encouraging talented newcomers. His contribution to cinema is immense.

He was instrumental in organizing the screenwriting workshop that just concluded recently in Chennai, where hemet with Oscar-winning French script-writer Jean Claude Carriere. He has nowdecided to choose 30 participants from the 250 who attended the screenwriting workshop to make a series of short films.

The city of Chennai will be the central theme, and the chosen directors will be funded by Kamal's short film making unit. By this, he plans to encourage moredirectors who would delve deep into the topic and come out with flying colours.
