One of the most celebrated Karnatak classical Vocalist Vidwan L Ramasesha passed away at the age of 72 on Sunday (April 7th). Reports say that the veteran passes away owing to age-related illness.

Vidwam started his musical journey started at the age of 10 influenced by his father, the late L Lakshmipathi Bagavatha. He was into the field of Keertana and Karnataka vocal singing and is popularly known for his profound and soothing voice. Vidwan is also famous for lending his voice to Bharatanatyam concerts many a time. Vidwan was the recipient of Gana Kala Kasturi title given by Karnataka Ganakala Parishat, Bengaluru and the prestigious Karnataka Kalashree award.

 Vidwan L Ramasesha's wife Lopamudra is also a popular vocalist and his two sons Phaneendra Kumar and Vijay Prakash, daughters-in-law Nagashree are also into the field of music, dance, and theatre. One of his sons, Vijay Prakash is a big name from the family and has worked in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Marathi movies. Vijay Prakash has given his voice for popular Tamil song including Ajith's Adharu Adharu from Yennai Arindhal and many more movies.

According to reports, the last rites will be performed on Tuesday (April 9th), as family members are waiting for the arrival of Vijay Prakash, who is currently on a US tour. The loss of the legendary singer is a mournful incident in the music industry.
