Veedokkade completes 100 days

Tamil super star Suriya's recent Telugu blockbuster Veedokkade, released on May 1, the dubbed version of Ayan (Tamil) directed by K.V. Anand and produced by AVM, is completing 100 days in Andhra Pradesh this week.�(The Tamil version Ayan was released on April 3.)

According to reports, Ayan is the third largest Tamil film in generating�revenue,�after Sivaji and Dasavaatharam. Made at a whopping budget of Rs. 15 crores, the film enjoyed good collections�across domestic and overseas markets.

Ayan grossed over Rs. 80 crores from the domestic market. In Chennai alone, its revenue exceeded Rs. 7.3 crores. The film's distribution rights in Tamil Nadu were sold for Rs. 18 crores and the Telugu version Veedokkade was sold to Hyderabad-based producer Bellamkonda Suresh for Rs. 3 crores.

Starring Tamannaah as heroine, Veedokkade is about Deva (Suriya), an educated and intelligent smuggler who works for his godfather Doss (Prabhu), the No. 1 dealer of smuggled goods and pirated movies. The film tells how Deva and his men cross swords with Kamalesh (Akashdeep Saigal), son of a Marwari smuggler whom Doss treats as a mentor.
