State film awards announced

The State awards committee announced the State awards for 2007-2008 on Sunday evening. Gulabi Talkies, directed by Girish Kasaravalli, was adjudged Best Film. Puneeth Rajkumar bagged the best actor award for his role in Milana. Dr. Rajkumar award went to Dr. Vishnuvardhana and Renuka Sharma was awarded with Puttanna Kanagal Award. Umasree was adjudged best actress for her performance in Gulabi Talkies. Moggina Jade is the second best film and Mathad Mathad Mallige is the third best. Mrs. Parvathamma Rajkumar was awarded with Lifetime Achievement Award.
