Sivakarthikeyan Productions was launched by the leading actor Sivakarthikeyan to make the dreams of his friend Arunraja Kamaraj come true. The first film of the production house Kanaa was a Mega hit film with Aishwarya Rajesh and Sathyaraj in lead roles. The actor Sivakarthikeyan also did an extended cameo role in the film. The movie won many awards and was also screened in China. SK productions also bankrolled the films Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja and Vaazl. He then went on to produce Doctor and Don where Sivakarthikeyan himself played the lead. The production house has now announced its next project.
The 6th project of Sivakarthikeyan Productions will be Kottukaali. The film will have talented Soori with well-known Malayalam Actress Anna Ben in lead roles and the project will be directed by Pebbles fame PS Vinothraj. The first look poster of the film shows the heads of many roosters depicting it could form a major part of the film. The project will have B Sakthivel as Director of Photography, Ganesh Siva as Editor and Kalai Arasu as Co-producer. The makers revealed the title of the film with the caption “Here's the first look of our next, KottuKaali. We’re delighted to team up with PS Vinothraj, Whose debut film (Pebbles/Koozhangal) was not only India's official entry to the Oscars but also the IFFR tiger Award Winner of ‘21. Happy to have the super-talented Soori and Anna Ben on board."

The previous film of the director PS Vinothraj, Pebbles, was produced by Rowdy Pictures and was screened in many film festivals and got recognised globally. Kottukaali will be the next film of the talented filmmaker. Soori is known for doing Comedic and supporting roles in movies and turned hero in Vetri Maaran’s Viduthalai. Soori and SivaKarthikeyan have done many films together and it's not a surprise that the producer is bankrolling KottuKaali with Soori as the lead. This will be the debut of Anna Ben in Tamil. Photos from the launch ceremony of the project went viral in January and now the makers have made it official.
