Prasthanam is a 2010 political action drama flick written and directed by Deva Katta, starring Sharwanand, Sai Kumar, Sundeep Kishan, and Ruby Parihar. The movie is now being officially remade in Hindi, bankrolled by Sanjay S Dutt Productions and Maanyata Dutt, directed by Deva Katta himself. This Hindi movie stars features, Sanjay Dutt, Manisha Koirala, Jackie Shroff, Chunky Pandey, Ali Fazal, Satyajeet Dubey and Amyra Dastur among the others. Ahead of its release this flick has landed in a legal trouble as the popular Hindi digital distribution house, Shemaroo moved to court claiming that they hold the Hindi remake rights.
Shemaroo alleged that they had long back proposed a deal to Sanjay Dutt, about the movie during its announcement but apparently there was no response to it. Sanjay Dutt's 60th birthday was on July 29th and on the same day, they were issued the legal notice.
On the same day, the official teaser of Prasthanam was released and has over 4 million views. The movie is gearing up to hit the silver screens on September 20.
