Samantha Ruth Prabhu took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday, October 12, and shared a picture of herself from the hospital where she was seen with drips (IV) inserted into her hand while revealing that she was undergoing immunity-boosting therapy. Along with the photo, the leading Tamil actress also listed out her treatment which includes a boost in white blood cell production, the improvement of the immune system function, heart health, and muscle health applications, an enhancement of energy and cardiovascular system function, including putting up a fight against viruses and other threats, and an improvement in the bone strength and cellular support.

On another Instagram Story, Samantha shared a note explaining the nature of her treatment, which stated as follows: "Role of Intravenous nutrition in diseases is primarily given to address nutritional deficiencies and offers symptom relief for certain medical conditions. However, it's essential to note that the IV nutritional therapy alone is not a cure for diseases but can be used as a complementary or supportive treatment in special medical conditions, which needs to be personalised based on condition of the patient by their consulting physician." (sic) Samantha, who was diagnosed with Myositis, an autoimmune condition, in 2022, is currently on a sabbatical from her professional commitments to take care of her health.

Samantha, who has been concentrating on the improvement of her health, has been sharing pictures and videos from her travels while visiting Bali along with friends before flying to Austria sometime back. On the work front, the actress was recently seen in the Telugu romantic comedy, Kushi, opposite Vijay Deverakonda, which became a blockbuster box office success. As for her upcoming projects, Samantha has in her lineup the highly-anticipated Amazon Prime Video espionage series, Citadel, alongside Bollywood star Varun Dhawan, under The Family Man duo Raj & DK's direction. She will also be seen in her first English-language feature, Chennai Stories, an adaption of Timeri N. Murari's 2004 novel The Arrangements of Love, to be directed by Downton Abbey fame Philip John.
