Actor Vijay has reportedly requested his fans to stay away from the 2016 polls and has also requested them not to involve in any poll campaign. The actor has over 51,600 registered fan clubs in TN and enjoys a great fan following. Initially, he shared a great rapport with DMK but things went sour when DMK chief Karunanidhi's family prevented his film from release. In 2012 Assembly elections, Vijay openly extended his support to AIADMK but his films continued to face trouble.

Being active in politics always, the actor's strong dialogues in Kaththi against the 2G scam seems to be the main attraction for this polls. Posters of his dialogues along with the image of AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa has been flaunting across the city. However, the actor's decision not to involve in campaigns comes as a big surprise. Sources say that due to Puli disaster, he choose to concentrate on films for now.
