Hansika opposite Udhayanidhi Stalin
Child-artist-turned heroine Hansika, who appeared in a number of Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada films, will be the heroine opposite Tamil production house Red Giant Movies' owner Udhayanidhi Stalin in his debut film as a hero.
The film, titled Nanbaenda, will be directed by Rajesh, who recently made two back-to-back super hits Siva Manasula Sakthi and Boss Engira Bhaskaran.
In an interview to a leading newspaper, Hansika confirmed that she has signed Nanbaenda. She said that the makers came to Mumbai and narrated the story, which she found interesting. “I immediately caught up with Rajesh's previous films, which had great female characterization. I'm very happy to be working with this team, which I'm sure will make a wonderful movie," she added.
Director Rajesh, who is currently giving finishing touches to the script, said that Hansika is apt for the role, as the story demands a North Indian looking girl. When asked about earlier rumours that Shruti Haasan and Trisha were considered for the heroine's role, Rajesh said, "We had approached them but it did not work out due to date hassles."
