Cases booked against Bhanu, Ramesh

The Hyderabad police have registered cases against Bhanu Kiran, the prime accused in Suri's murder case, and Telugu producer Singanamala Ramesh for allegedly threatening a woman Jayanthi Reddy.

According to a complaint filed by Jubilee Hills resident Jayanthi with the Central Crime Station (CCS) police, Ramesh and Bhanu took her along with her family members to Balaji Colour Lab in Filmnagar and threatened to kill them for asking them to repay Rs. 7 crores she had lent them.

Police said the family gave the amount to producer Ramesh after he requested them to arrange for the money. As the producer was a family friend, Jayanthi's family mortgaged property in a bank and lent him the money. When bank officials started exerting pressure on them, Jayanthi requested Ramesh to return the money at the earliest.

But the producer with the help of Bhanu took the family to the lab on the pretext of paying the amount and threatened to kill them if they pressurized Ramesh to return the amount, police said. Meanwhile, unconfirmed reports said Bhanu was detained in Mumbai on Monday, but police denied the reports saying a manhunt was still on to nab him.
