A film that has raised massive curiosity ever since it kicked off production earlier this year, Bigil, starring ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay under Atlee’s direction has been proceeding forward at a brisk pace. Announced to come out in theatres in October as a Diwali release, the upcoming sports drama is being produced by AGS Entertainment with music by Oscar winner A. R. Rahman. With the climax reportedly being shot now, it has been revealed to us that a grand railway station set was erected at the prestigious Prasad Studios in Chennai to shoot important scenes featuring Vijay that were completed yesterday (July 3). Bigil has been a topic of hot debate especially after the film's Creative Producer Archana Kalpathi officially confirmed that the film’s Tamil Nadu theatrical rights were acquired by Screen Scene Media Pvt. Ltd while also announcing the overseas rights being bagged by XGen Studio and United India Exporters and in the process declaring it will be Vijay’s largest worldwide release till date.

Bigil is carrying massive expectations after it was revealed that Vijay will be seen in dual roles as father and son with the film’s plot revolving around the sport of football amidst a North Chennai backdrop. Furthermore, A. R. Rahman’s songs are set to be a major highlight especially after the success of his previous two associations with Vijay in Mersal and Sarkar. A multi-starrer, the film has Nayanthara playing the female lead, Kathir, Vivek, Jackie Shroff, Indhuja, Daniel Balaji, Anandaraj, Yogi Babu, Varsha Bollamma, Amritha Iyer, Soundararaja, Devadarshini, ‘Thaadi’ Balaji, Dheena among others in important supporting roles.
