Vijayakanth's son Vijay Prabhakaran has bagged the Chennai team at the newly formed Badminton Premier League. The team has been christened as Chennai Smashers. Well-known Indian names like P.V. Sindhu, Sikkireddy, Jerry Chopra, and Krishnapriya and internationally famed Sony, Simon Santos, Pia, Chris Adcock, Brice, and Toby will be playing for the Chennai team. It is heard that in an aggressive bid Captain Jr bought top player Sindhu for USD 95,000. The league will begin in Mumbai on Jan 2.
