Social media and fans and followers of ‘Thalapathy’ Vijay have been lauding the first look poster of the superstar’s upcoming film, BIGIL, which was released yesterday (21.06.2019). In light of the actor’s birthday today, AGS Entertainment didn’t stop with the birthday treat for Vijay’s fans and unveiled the Bigil second look poster at the stroke of midnight, which as well has gone on to receive a thunderous welcome.
To start off decoding the Bigil second look poster, we are shown four looks of Vijay among which the left picture seems to be the son character considering there is a cut on his eyebrow and isn’t visible on the eyebrows of the remaining three looks that the actor is shown in. Although nothing much can be said about the rest of the three looks, we can assume it could be the father character set across various timeframes or he is seen sporting black hair after dyeing it. It can also be speculated that the father character wearing the Jesus dollar sign might be the coach in the North Chennai territory, whose son is also a player.

Then, there’s Vijay’s jersey number 5, which usually indicates someone who is full of energy and can also be used to describe versatility and independence. The number 5 is commonly considered as a number that defines humanity, versatility, rebellion and a daring nature. Continuing with the jersey, the character’s name Michael is revealed along with also a phrase atop it, which can be considered as Vijay’s team’s motto - “Mission of Honor”. Sticking with the Michael character, we are seen him complimenting his jersey with a lungi while holding a cycle chain. As of now, it is safe to assume it is a description of the character, who is a ruffian or the context might be explained as his introduction scene or during an important fight sequence in the film.
Finally, there are verses all over the Bigil second look poster that lay emphasis on the relevance of pride and how important the role of a coach is in a team. We will get a better insight by the time more new stills and the film’s teaser/trailer is released in the months ahead in light of the theatrical release in October.
