Meanwhile, during the forty years celebration of Vijayakanth in Tamil cinema, filmmaker and Vijay’s father S A Chandrasekhar in his speech went on to state that 'Captain' was the symbolism for friendship, respect, gratitude and humanity.
Having worked together in 17 films, SAC then added saying Vijayakanth is a person who cares for his fellow beings and quotes he is the main reason for his son, Vijay's successful career in Tamil Cinema.
The director went on state like MGR, Vijayakanth will live on for years in the minds of the people.
S. A. Chandrasekar then went on to state Vijayakanth did Sendhoorapandi to promote Vijay as a hero first and didn’t discuss salary details when he joined the film.
