Mohanlal was last seen in a super hit blockbuster movie, Lucifer which was a directorial debut of actor Prithviraj Sukumaran. Mohanlal's will next be seen in Ittymaani: Made in China, which will be an Onam release. The filming of the movie has been wrapped up and has proceeded to its post production phase. Talking about the movie, Ittymaani: Made in China, its director, debutants Jibi and Joju had stated in a leading daily that if they can not reveal much about Mohalal's character in the movie as it would uncover the entire story. They had revealed that Mohanlal has played Christian character, who is based in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur. It was also mentioned that his character has connections in China.
The first look still has Mohanlal in a margamkali costume. The director combo also said that contrasting to Mohanlal's serious and intense character in Lucifer, Ittiymaani: Made in China is more fun. The movie also features, Honey Rose, Radikaa Sarathkumar, Siddique and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The movie is touted to be a full-length entertainer, and is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner, Aashirvad Cinemas.
