In an exclusive interview to Galatta, director K.S. Ravikumar made a strong statement saying that he sees Rajinikanth as his Superstar and this is the reason behind having a superhero climax.

He lashed out at the critics by saying that they accept the same stunts when performed by Hollywood superheroes but question it when our very own superstar does it. He also added that he made the film for Rajinikanth's fans and especially kids.
