Silambarasan, popularly known as STR, celebrates his 30th birthday today! The multi-talented STR is well known as an actor, director, singer and lyricist. As a child artiste, he began his career in 1987 and has been a part of a number of film. His first film as a hero is Kadhal Azhivadhillai in 2002. Then he went on to do movies like Kovil, Manmadhan, Saravana, Vallavan, Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, Vaanam, Osthe and the recently released Poda Podi, with which he marked a place for himself in Kollywood as one of the top actors!

STR made his debut as a director in Vallavan. He is well-known as a singer too! Some of his well-known songs as a singer are Loosu Penne (which was his first as a lyricist), Kadhal Vanthirichu, Yammadi Aathaadi, Evan Di Unna Pethan, Lova Panlaama Venaama and I am a Kuthu Dancer. Apart from singing for his own films, he has sung for actors like Srikanth and Jayam Ravi. His upcoming film in are Vettai Mannan, Vaalu and Vada Chennai. On the occasion of his birthday, STR's single from his upcoming film Vaalu is all set to be released today.
