Any film that aims for a hit in the cine industry must have a good promotional strategy. But Ashik, who is debuting as a director with his Vu, never thought about promotion. His script has won an award at the Hungary Film Festival. The director says that he had allocated budget only for filming. Apparently people warned him that he might find it hard to sell the movie.

But Ashik was fortunate because he met Jayakrishnan who had earlier distributed hit films like Marina and Mayakam Enna. The director says, “While he told me that he wasn't keen on buying any film at the moment, he asked me to provide a CD containing my film's trailer and songs. That night, he called me and asked me if I can screen the entire film for him." The good news is that Jayakrishnan was mighty impressed with the way they film was helmed and immediately accepted to distribute the film.
