These days almost every artist from all media platforms is trying their luck out on the big screens. This time it is none other than the much-loved VJ Chitra! Chitra aka Chithu is currently basking in the success of her performance in TV serial Pandian Stores. Now, according to a report in a leading daily, the small-screen actress is all set to show off her prowess in movies! Talking to the daily, she mentioned that the film is of thriller genre.
“It’s a new team and we are almost in the last leg of shoot. My character works in a BPO and certain incidents change the course of her life. It is a thriller, but there will be a message... something on the lines of Aruvi. The film is titled Calls,” she told the daily. Talking about how Pandian Stores increased her fan base, she told the daily, “The most heart-warming thing about doing serials is that the audiences treat you like their own family. Many people have come to me with a dabba of home-cooked food when I shot outdoors. Recently, this person gave me a box of chocolates and said sweet things to me. So many people comment on my Instagram posts, too, saying I remind them of their sister or daughter. I am blessed to have this kind of love and support from them.”
The report also mentions that she is looking at other scripts at the same time and she is very choosy about what she picks up. “I’m very careful about my film career and I’m taking it slow. I want to do something challenging; I’m interested in doing women-centric scripts like Kanaa. The films I do should make sense. That’s all,” she told the daily. Stay tuned…
