Vishnu vishal reveals he was the first choice for karthi role in naan mahaan alla movie susienthiran - Tamil Movie Cinema News

Vishnu Vishal has revealed that he was initially almost finalized to play the lead role in director Susienthiran's Naan Mahaan Alla (2010), which clocked in 15 years on Sunday, August 20, since its release. The leading Tamil actor-producer took to X and shared that he was supposed to star in the film after his debut Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu (2009), which too was directed by Susienthiran. Revealing that he was the first choice for Naan Mahaan Alla before the role eventually went to Karthi, Vishnu Vishal weighed in that fate had other plans for him, with the actor adding that it's one of his favorite films.

Sharing the information on the occasion of 15 years of Naan Mahaan Alla, Vishnu Vishal wrote on X, "One of my favourite…  I was supposed to do this as my second film with suseenthiran sir after vennila kabadi kuzhu … It was almost finalised but then fate had other plans..  Sometimes i think ‘ wat if ‘ this was my second film.. 🙄🥹 But then its not ‘what if’.. Its ‘what is’:)" (sic) Naan Mahaan Alla revolved around a cheerful youngster, Jeeva (Karthi), whose life turns upside down after his father (Jayaprakash) is murdered by rogues after he witnesses a crime committed by them. Featuring chart-topping hit songs composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, the film also starred Kajal Aggarwal, Soori, Lakshmi Ramakrishnan, Vinod Kishan, Vijay Sethupathi, and Neelima Rani, among others, and Karthi's fifth coming out right after Paiyaa (2010).

Vishnu Vishal will be seen next as a cricketer alongside Vikranth in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam under the Lyca Productions banner, which also has 'Superstar' Rajinikanth in an extended cameo, with music composed by A. R. Rahman. He also has in the pipeline Mohandas and Aaryan in various stages of production, including sequels like Indru Netru Naalai 2 and FIR 2, and an untitled project with director Ramkumar, which marks their third-time collaboration after Mundasupatti (201) and Ratsasan (2018). Karthi, on the other hand, will arrive in theatres with his Japan this Diwali in November and is currently filming the tentatively titled Karthi 26 under Soodhu Kavvum and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum fame Nalan Kumarasamy's direction. The Ponniyin Selvan star also is also joining forces with 96 director Prem Kumar for an untitled film, while also being announced to be reprising his roles for Sardar 2 and Kaithi 2
