There's no stopping Jailer's box office rampage as the latest 'Superstar' Rajinikanth-starrer has now created a new record in the USA. The mass action entertainer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar under Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures banner and featuring music composed by 'Rockstar' Anirudh Ravichander has been declared to be the highest-grossing film of the iconic actor in the US on Sunday, August 20, and has no doubt come as joyous news to Tamil cinema fans everywhere. Reputed North American Indian films distribution banner Prime Media US shared the big news, while also revealing earlier in the day that Jailer crossed the $5 million mark at the US box office.

Jailer has been smashing records left and right and the film has once again proven that Rajinikanth is undoubtedly a record-breaker at the box office. Although the current worldwide gross collection report is awaited, Sun Pictures had earlier this week announced that the film made 375.40+ crores (tentative - still updating) and added that it's the highest first-week total gross collection for a film in the history of Tamil cinema. The stellar response to Rajinikanth's Jailer isn't felt in the US alone as the film has also been witnessing a phenomenal audience turnout in several countries around the world. The demand for tickets has been huge in the United Kingdom and the film has now been announced to be shown on more than 1,500 screens from the second week going forward. In addition, Jailer has also set a new record for a Tamil venture with 525,000 admissions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries (GCC), the film's overseas distributor Ayngaran International announced earlier this week.

Jailer's massive success will no doubt leave Rajinikanth, producer Kalanithi Maran, and director Nelson Dilipkumar mighty happy, with all sights now set on the records ahead the film will go on to break in the days ahead.
