At the Marudhu press meet, actor Vishal has warned against piracy strongly. The actor felt that he is fighting the battle solely and there is a huge lack of support from his counterparts. "I am the only one who is giving out my voice against piracy. The pirated copies of Suriya's just-released 24 is available in the market snow. And, even for Marudhu the situation will be the same. If I find any CD I will go and find out the theatre from which it is leaked and take strict actions" he said. He also stated that theatre owners should take more measure to avoid any illegal leakage of the prints.
However, this has not gone well with distributor Thirupur Subramaniam. "We have to fight against piracy and not just blame each other.Most of the pirated CDs come from overseas centres and not from Tamil Nadu as stated by Vishal. If they are concerned about piracy, they should stop selling everything to overseas markets and release the film in overseas centres two weeks later," he said.
