Vineeth is proud of what he is!

Classical dancer and actor Vineeth has been in the industry for more than 22 years. Debuting with I.V. Sasi's Edanilagal in 1985, he has acted in several well-received films in his native Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada during his long innings. But if you say that Vineeth did not appear in any memorable roles, he will never agree with you!

"I don’t agree with you on this point as I feel I'm one of the few lucky artistes to have the opportunity to do memorable roles conceived by great masters such as M.T. Vasudevan Nair, Hariharan, Padmarajan, Bharathan, Fazil, Priyadarshan, Kamal and Kranthikumar. In Tamil, I can mention K. Balachandran, Shankar, Kadir and recently, the legendary Kalaignar Karunanidhi with his Uliyin Osai."

However, it is a fact that many directors consider Vineeth mainly for dance-oriented roles alone. Why? "Because any classical type of film requires artistes trained in that particular dance form. Hence, I get priority over others for such roles with my training in classical dance," he explains.

Vineeth is happy in his current position and status. "I am happy to be in a profession I enjoy most. This is one place where I can meet people from different walks of life. I am happy to be associated with some of the most incredibly talented people in the country."
