"When the original version was released..." - Vetri Maaran's first statement after Vidhuthalai: Part 1's success! WATCH VIDEO!

National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai: Part 1 has been declared a blockbuster and continues to witness a strong audience turnout in more than 100+ screens in Tamil Nadu in its fourth week. The period crime thriller starring Soori in the lead role and Vijay Sethupathi in an extended cameo has been produced by Elred Kumar's RS Infotainment banner and features music by 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja. With the Tamil version turning out to be a huge success, the film was released last week in Telugu under the title Vidudhala: Part 1 by reputed producer-distributor Allu Aravind. 

A GFD release, Vidudhala: Part 1 too has been receiving a stellar feedback from Telugu audiences, and Vetri Maaran has now released a statement thanking Allu Aravind for supporting the film. Extending his gratitude to the blockbuster producer-distributor, the hit Tamil filmmaker said, "In setting up a film like Viduthalai, the most easiest thing is to come up with an idea like this. But, the challenge comes for a person to come and invest on an idea like this. So, I really thank my producer for all the support he has given through the process of making this film and his trust in the conviction that I had. And, when the original version was released here, Allu Aravind sir flew down, watched the film along with the people and he called me in the morning at 2 a.m. and said that he really liked the film and that he would like to release it in Telugu. I really thank him for the kind of support he had given me and the trust he has had on the film and the hard work that we have put in." 

Vetri Maaran continued, "That also is easy compared to what the press has done for the film. To talk about the film, write about the film, ignoring the flaws it has, and appreciating it... So, I really thank the press for doing it for us and last. And, last but not the least, the biggest support for the Telugu version of Viduthalai has come from the audiences. You all have come and watched the film and appreciated it for whatever it stands for and for accepting the film as it is. I, on behalf of the whole cast and crew of Viduthalai, I thank the Telugu people for supporting the film and appreciating our hard work. Thank you."
