National Award-winning Tamil filmmaker Vetri Maaran's Viduthalai: Part 1 is officially a hit at the box office and among the critics, and is continuing to witness a strong run in theatres. Produced under the RS Infotainment banner by Elred Kumar, the period crime thriller starring Soori in the lead role also sees 'Makkal Selvan' Vijay Sethupathi making a cameo appearance, with music composed by 'Isaignani' Ilaiyaraaja. With Viduthalai: Part 1 turning out to be a success, the much-awaited 'Kaattumalli' song has now been released and gives audiences a glimpse of Soori and actress Bhavani Sre, who is playing the female lead in the film.

Ilaiyaraaja, who has sung 'Kaattumalli' in Viduthalai: Part 1 along with Ananya Bhat, has also penned the song's lyrics, which is currently at the top of the charts. The veteran composer is once again being showered with praises from all corners for churning out yet another memorable melody that has been getting a double thumbs up reaction from the young and the elderly alike. Viduthalai marks the first time Vetri Maaran has teamed up with Ilaiyaraaja and their collaboration has flagged off on a strong start, with all eyes now on what the celebrated filmmaker and the iconic composer have planned for the sequel, which is expected to come out in cinemas in the months ahead.
Viduthalai is a two-parter and fans will be looking to watch an even more engaging and riveting film with the upcoming sequel from Vetri Maaran, who is carrying his winning streak forward. Red Giant Movies has tasted their third successive box office success with the film in Tamil Nadu in 2023 after previously releasing Ajith Kumar's Thunivu in January and Kavin's Dada in February. Fans and critics have attributed the success of Viduthalai: Part 1 to be a collective effort of Vetri Maaran, Ilaiyaraaja, Soori, who plays a police constable, including Vijay Sethupathi appearing as a revolutionary leader, and all eyes will now be on the sequel, which will pick up from the events of where the first installment ended.
