Actor Ajith Kumar's Valimai released earlier this week in theatres worldwide after a long wait and has taken a sensational opening everywhere. Several cinema halls across Tamil Nadu witnessed a festive atmosphere for the latest Ajith-starrer as fans thronged early in the morning for the 4 a.m. special shows. However, Valimai's first-day first show celebrations also saw a huge outpouring of love from  Ajith's fans, who bathed the film's producer Boney Kapoor's car with milk and curd. Having said that, the blockbuster producer has now for the first time opened up on the incident on Valimai's release in an exclusive interview to Galatta.

Boney Kapoor said, "The kind of reception we got, my car got, it will be plastered in my mind all my life. Ask me and I'll tell you every bit of it. We got in and the crowd started embracing the car loudly." He then added saying that he could hear them knocking on the vehicle." Boney stated, "They gave more love. First, it was just hugs. Then, it was the milk. Then, it was the curd. And, even the wipers could not move the milk and the curd. Although the drive was only 30-50 feet, it took us almost half an hour to forty minutes to get out of the car and inside the theatre, which was exciting, sometimes a little worrisome too because I thought the car window or the windshield would break and somebody could get injured."

Valimai has been produced by Boney Kapoor's Bayview Projects LLP banner in association with Zee Studios and is their second consecutive collaboration with Ajith, H. Vinoth and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja after their Nerkonda Paarvai in 2019. The latest action film has been the talk of the town, with praises being showered for the high-octane action scenes in the film, including Ajith at the forefront once again in daredevil stunt sequences.
