Valentine weekend movies

With Valentine’s Day falling on Saturday this year, Kollywood is trying to capitalize on this romantic weekend. Three films – Siva Manasula Sakthi, Kudiarasu and├п┬┐┬╜Perumal – are releasing this Friday. Let us take a quick look at what these movies have to offer:

Siva Manasula Sakthi (SMS) is a marvel from reputed media company Vikatan Talkies, a perfect film for February 14th, a beautiful tale of love. The lead pair of SMS – Jiiva and Anuya Bhagvat – and their onscreen chemistry has already become the talk of the town. With director Rajesh’s excellent narration and Yuvan’s beautiful musical score, SMS has all that today’s youth├п┬┐┬╜desire in a love story.

Kudiarasu, on the other hand, is an action-thriller mixed with the right amounts of romance and drama. Shabir Hussain, who directs and acts in a prominent role in this film, is a two-time national champion in kickboxing which shows in his excellent and daredevil stunts in the film. Starring Vigneshwaran in the lead, this fast-paced screenplay is based on the notorious Watergate Scandal (involving former US President Nixon).

Sundar C.’s Perumal, with heroines Namitha and Meenakshi, is a typical Kollywood commercial movie – a potpourri of glamour, drama, action, comedy, and songs. And the comical juggernaut of Sundar C. and Vivek will continue in Perumal too!

Adhe Neram Adhe Idam, which was supposed to release in the Valentine weekend, has been postponed since the filmmakers decided to re-shoot a song and add a few scenes to increase the film’s appeal.
