Udhayanidhi Stalin's Maamannan is all set for a grand release in theatres on June 29 and the censor board has now issued the film with a 'U/A' certificate. Directed by Mari Selvaraj, the upcoming film produced under the Red Giant Movies banner includes a stellar star cast featuring the likes of iconic Tamil comedy actor 'Vaigai Puyal' Vadivelu, National Award winners Keerthy Suresh and Fahadh Faasil, while Academy Award-winning composer A. R. Rahman's music yet another major highlight. With Maamannan getting a 'U/A' certificate from the censor board, the film is expected to witness a strong audience turnout in cinemas starting next Friday, with Red Giant Movies also announcing that the advance ticket bookings in theatres have begun starting today.

There is massive hype surrounding Maamannan as it is Mari Selvaraj's next after Pariyerum Perumal (2018) and Karnan (2021), and movie buffs and film aficionados expect him to come out firing on all cylinders with yet another powerful social commentary. Expectations shot up tenfold after the release of the film's trailer which showed Vadivelu as Udhayanidhi Stalin's father, with the duo making efforts to reform the society of the troubles caused by caste oppression. Vadivelu's role in particular in Maamannan has generated quite a lot of curiosity and excitement as he is being featured in a full-length serious role in comparison to his usual path of comedy.
Maamannan will be Udhayanidhi Stalin's last big film before he dives into politics full-time and he will be looking to sign off from cinema on a winning note. There is ample scope for him to perform well and deliver a career-best performance and the visuals in the trailer show him hitting the high note on several occasions. A. R. Rahman's songs too have been a big support for Maamannan so far and are currently reigining at the top of the charts.
